ABOUT THE FILM
DOG, the local triad 'enforcer' finds himself dying of boredom when he's ordered to keep a derelict building free from intruders but when a wily heroin addict tricks her way into staying he soon finds himself looking at violence in a very different way.
ABOUT THE DIRECTOR
Robin looked to be heading for a career in classical music having spent his early years as a child chorister and touring star in the English Performing Arts Ensemble singing and playing the violin and piano. But after deciding to study English at Oxford he left music behind and began developing an interest in filmmaking for a living. A chance encounter with an extreme sports filmmaker led to Robin and two friends making their first film, Snows in the House, filming the world's best snowboarders, skiers and basejumpers with a premiere in Leicester Square. Robin spent the next 8 years developing as a self-taught filmmaker, running Chrome Productions and producing work all over the spectrum from factual entertainment television to music videos and viral videos. He left Chrome in 2009 and continued directing music videos before designing and implementing a complete content marketing strategy for Lux* Island Resorts which had him shooting all over the Indian Ocean from Mauritius to the Maldives. Continuing his ocean adventures Robin won the Bahamas 14 Islands Film Competition and began moving into fiction work shooting a handful of short films and creating two sucessful YouTube series, SuperMassive Raver and Stenderz. The latter saw Robin and regular collaborator Simon Wan parodying well-known music videos using the plot of Eastenders and caught the eye of fashion photographer Rankin who then asked them to present a podcast for his Hunger Magazine, and Fearne Cotton on Radio1 with the boys being asked to write and perform songs for her show.
Robin has been working with Gez Medinger since the inception of Chrome Productions and they both shared a dream to shoot smart, bold, commercially mainstream drama. They have shot several short films together including Please Hold, a comedy of embarassment and Canis Belli, a WW1 tragedy and began 2013 by shooting their first feature film Afterdeath, written by Andrew Ellard and starring Sam Keeley (Monsters: The dark continent), Daniella Kertesz (World War Z) and Miranda Raison (Spooks). Robin followed that up by shooting DOG, a 40min Hong Kong style martial arts action film starring Simon Wan and his brother Martin currently being submitted to festivals.
Robin is developing a number of projects as a followup to Afterdeath, an adaptation of Sir Gawain and the Green Knight and SUPER.HUMAN a dark tale about the ugly side of superheroics.
