2015 FSLR Monthly Short Film Series Schedule
Little Rock – The Film Society of Little Rock announces a new monthly short film series to be held at The Studio Theatre (320 W. 7th St, Little Rock). The series will feature a new theme on the 3rd (or sometimes 4th) Wednesday of each month. The series will feature a mixture of some of the best local, national, and international short films curated from filmmaker submissions from all over the world via FilmFreeway.
Each month, the audience can expect to watch a wide variety of films with themes like comedies, music & musicals, microshorts, student short films, horror, sports, and short films centered around the year-end holidays.
Here is a breakdown of the FSLR Monthly Short Film Series:
Red Octopus Presents A Night of Comedy Shorts (May 20, 2015) – As the title suggests Little Rock’s own Red Octopus Theatre Company will be selecting a fun batch of comedy short films from submissions all around the globe. (Head programmer Jason Willey)
Good Things/Small Packages - A Night of Micro-Shorts (June 17, 2015) – Good Things/Small Packages will focus on “micro-shorts,” short films from 1 to 5 minutes long. (Head programmer Johnnie Brannon)
Little Rock 'n' Rollers - A Night of Musical Shorts (July 15, 2015) – Who doesn’t love a movie with a little music? Little Rock ‘n’ Rollers spotlights short films with music serving as a central theme of a film, whether the film (or documentary) is about a rock band or a full blown musical.
Made in Arkansas Film Series (August 26, 2015) – The MIA Film Series will features a variety of different shorts from Arkansas Filmmakers.
Fresh Flix - A Student Short Film Festival (September 16, 2015) – FSLR has strong ties to student filmmakers. The audience as always can expect some of the best student short films from around the world!
Fantastically Horrifying Shorts! (October 28, 2015) – Presented by our principle festival Fantastic Cinema, just in time for Halloween this October we bring you a night of “fantastically horrifying” short films! (Head Programmer Sarah Jones)
Sporty Shorts (November 18, 2015) – As the name suggests, come checkout some great sports themed short films!
Holiday Spirits - A Night of Holiday Shorts (December 16, 2015) – Finally, to cap off the year, just in time for the all of the year-end festivities we bring you Holiday Shorts!

The screenings take place at The Studio Theatre & Lobby Bar in Little Rock, Arkansas (USA). The bar serves beer & wine and is always open before, during, and after our screenings. So arrive early, have a drink during the show, and then stay after the screening to discuss your favorite films over drinks!
