The Chamber Music Society is pleased to present the return of the Miller-Porfiris Duo on it's unique season-opening concert, Saturday, September 10, 7:30 at the CALS Ron Robinson Theater. The violin-viola duo will perform live accompaniment to a silent film triple-feature:
The Violin Maker of Cremona (1909)
The Great Train Robbery (1903)
In the innovative program titled "From Forbidden to Famed," the Miller-Porfiris Duo explores how the forced emigration of "degenerate" composers from a rapidly changing prewar Europe forever altered the American music scene, and influenced not only future American composers, but the entire Hollywood film industry.
Tickets available at the door or at www.ChamberMusicLR.com.
